Learning Norsk!

Norwegian is a beautiful language spoken in Norway. It's sing-song sound is very unique. Norwegian is very closely related to Swedish and Danish, and often people can speak to each other in these different languages and understand each other easily.

I started studying Norsk (Norwegian language) last March 1 (Monday) at Time Språkstasjon in Bryne. It's not easy but learning Norsk is like becoming a member of the club -- the community of speakers of that language.
Nelson Mandela once said, “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.”
According to Wikipedia, Norwegian (norsk) is a North Germanic language spoken primarily in Norway, where it is an official language. It is also spoken as a second language among Norwegian-Americans in the USA, especially in the central northern states.

Three days of studying Norsk, I was able to learn the Norsk alfabetet and some basic introduction like...

Jeg heter Shelley. (pronounced as yey heter) or My name is Shelley.
Hva heter du? (pronunced as va heter doo) or What is your name?
Jeg er fra Filippinene. (pronounced as Yey er fra filipinene) or I am from Philippines?
Hvor er du fra? (pronounced as vor er doo fra) or Where are you from?

And oh oh oh! I can count one to ten in Norsk! That’s en, to, tre, fire (pronounced as fiye), fem, seks, sjo (pronounced as shoo), atti (pronounced as ot), ni and ti!

Norwegian alphabet (norsk alfabet)

Aa Bb Cc Dd Ee Ff Gg Hh Ii Jj Kk Ll Mm Nn Oo Pp Qq Rr Ss Tt Uu Vv Ww Xx Yy Zz Ææ Øø Åå

What can I say about the language? With all due respect to all Norwegians, the Norsk language is a bit tricky to pronounce - I feel like Mr Bean with all the sk and osk and yaaa and ocks and accks! =D
